Cary Anderson
On Saturday afternoon, the blue-collar candidate Mr. Anderson will host his first Meet and Greet session at his home, 4214 Irving Pl., just south of Towne Plaza, between 12 noon and 3 o’clock.
The entire Anderson family — his wife Tina and 11-year-old daughter Jacqueline — will welcome visitors, who will be served coffee and other refreshments.

Jeff Cooper
In a nod to one of Culver City's most beloved annual civic events — the Fiesta La Ballona — Mr. Cooper is holding his own gala celebration.
Dubbed “Fiesta Del Cooper,” this dinner fundraising bash will be held on Saturday, March 8, , at 6 p.m., at the Culver Event Center,11948 W. Washington Blvd., near the corner of Inglewood Avenue.

"I chose the fiesta theme because I want to celebrate Culver City," said Mr. Cooper. "For many years as a Parks Commissioner, Exchange Club officer and member, and resident, I have been an active participant in commemorative events like Fiesta La Ballona. I think that La Ballona symbolizes the tremendous diversity, spirit and unity of our city. With that in mind, I wanted to celebrate my candidacy with an event that reflects and spotlights our city's best qualities."
The adults-only Latin-themed event will include cocktails, delectable and festive appetizers, a variety of Central American and Carribean-influenced entrees, music, dancing, a silent auction, contests and even a pinata.

Loni Anderson
On Friday evening at 7, Ms. Anderson will be hosting a special screening of the environmentally important documentary “Who Killed the Electric Car,” by Chris Paine.
Haas Entertainment, 5774 Uplander Way, will host the special event.
Mr. Paine will be on hand to discuss the film along with Chelsea Sexton, one of the EV1 specialists in the film.
As part of her platform, Ms. Anderson is a proponent of green building and green living. Culver City is already doing a lot to become a carbon neutral and sustainable city, yet more could be done, she says.

“Who Killed the Electric Car” is a 2006 documentary that demonstrates what happened to the G.M. EV1 electric vehicle and discusses the technology of battery-powered vehicles. Ms. Anderson said this is a thought-provoking look at what is possible in electric zero emission vehicles and why such cars were removed from the road.

Christopher Armenta
Adding to an already lengthy list, Mr. Armenta was endorsed by this week by state Sen. Mark Ridley-Thomas (D-Culver City).
With this endorsement, along with earlier ones by U.S. Rep. Diane Watson (D-Culver City), Speaker-elect of the Assembly Karen Bass, (D-Culver City) and state Board of Equalization Vice Chair Judy Chu, Mr. Armenta now has the support of every Culver City elected official at the state and federal level.

Mr. Armenta’s campaign is planning a “Dinner and Dancing Under the Stars” fundraiser for Friday, March 14. Andy Weissman
This is going to be a huge weekend for Mr. Weissman, the popular favorite in the City Council race.
On Saturday evening at 6:30, Mr. Weissman will host a gala Mardi Gras fundraiser in a freshly decorated venue, the southeast corner of Sepulveda and Washington Boulevard.
Until recently, this landmark corner was the site of Albertson Chevrolet for many years.
