The primary election three weeks from today will be the subject when the League of Women Voters Culver City Unit holds its monthly meeting at 12 noon on Tuesday, May 25, in the Community Room of the Julian Dixon Public Library.

The program will be an impartial presentation of the five statewide propositions appearing on California’s June 8 Primary ballot. League literature in English and Spanish will be distributed.

Visitors are welcome and parking is free. Overflow parking is available next door at the Culver City Adult School.

Propositions in this election cover taxation, consumer issues, and election law. Because commercial advertising for and against these ballot measures can be very misleading, the League’s presentation of pros and cons provides a unique opportunity to hear both sides and ask pertinent questions.

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization that does not support or oppose any political party or any candidate for public office. The League’s mission is to encourage informed and active participation in government.
