Remember the Meralta Theatre, the Culver Movie Theatre, or Sagebrush Cantina?
These places were the heart of downtown Culver City decades ago. Many of you may not remember them. But you are familiar with The Culver Hotel, which has been standing since 1924, and continues to be a centerpiece of the city.
Christopher Patrick King, candidate for City Council, is holding his fundraiser, “From the Gilded Age to the New Age,” at the hotel. The building evokes the history of early Culver City, and Mr.King’s campaign platform builds on that history and looks to the future with creativity and excitement.
“I am so happy to be able to invite supporters to join me at the Culver Hotel, which exemplifies so well the history of the city I love,” Mr. King said. “I look forward to serving on the Council and bringing the city into the future with specific innovative ideas.”
The event will be on Wednesday from 6 to 8 at the Hotel.
Come dressed in your vintage best from any of the previous decades and there will be prizes for best costume.
There will also be a silent auction and delicacies for your palate. The cost is $50 per person and $80 per couple. You may pay online by credit card at http://cpk4culvercity.com. For more information and to make a reservation contact Pat Levinson at palevinson@ca.rr.com or call 310.490.3029.
