Re “One Task at West L.A. Not Likely Ever to be Completed”

If, when he enters a high school classroom in pursuit of potential students he only is allotted 30 seconds to pitch  for West Los Angeles College, President Nabil Abu-Ghazaleh was asked to condense into a single sentence his most persuasive recruiting argument.

Mr. Abu-Ghazaleh did not hesitate for a single breath.

“The major selling point is our attachment to our equity mission, in the sense that our goal is to reach students, help them to identify their dreams, focus their goals and pursue them to success.”

Always prepared, seriously committed to West, laser-focused on his responsibilities to the student body, the immediate community and the broader community – these are among the reasons that late in his third year, Mr. Abu-Ghazeleh is regarded as perhaps the most effective chief executive in West L.A. College’s 45-year history.
