Before the City Council sits down in an anti-smoke-filled room to bat around the evils of smoking – here is where everyone inhales – the community is invited to comment on a fairly radical proposal – here is where the people exhale.
At the City Council meeting of Monday, Aug. 11, they will debate a proposed ordinance regulating smoking in multi-unit housing and a discussion of e-cigarettes.
Could this plan turn Culver City into a nanny community, where government is placing its chins on the shoulders of every busybody or do-gooder who can read?
Or is it about time City Hall came down strongly on abusive smoking habits in apartment buildings and their architectural cousins?
