Nancy Goldberg, recently retired after teaching 41 years at Culver City High School, today announced her candidacy for a seat on the School Board in the election to be held on Nov. 8.

Goldie, as her students and colleagues call her, becomes the fourth contender for the two available seats, joining Robert Zirgulis, Laura Chardiet and incumbent Scott Zeidman.

Ms. Goldberg said she is running because she feels the need to continue to provide the best education possible for the children of Culver City.

“I want to be an advocate for Culver City’s children,” she said. “I understand what it takes to educate a child. It is more than just a teacher and a classroom, but that is where it starts.”

Ms. Goldberg will officially kickoff her campaign on Sunday, July 31, at the home of Michael and Judy Bauer, 10676 Esterina Way, from 3 to 6 p.m.

Everyone is invited to meet and greet the candidate and offer their support. The event is free and refreshments will be served.
