Re “The Motyls: A Christmastime Story of One Couple’s Devotion”
Funeral services will be Saturday morning, March 7, at 10 o’clock at St. Augustine Catholic Church for Linda Motyl, wife of the prominent community figure Vince Motyl.
Mrs. Motyl died last Tuesday. She was 70 years old.
Mrs. Motyl, a Culver City native, fought back against kidney failure the last six years of her life. On dialysis, she received treatment three times a week.
The heroic story of the Motyls’ dual shared battle against the deadly disease was related here last December.
“It’s a tough thing,” Mr. Motyl said. “I understand what couples go through when one is in a devastating condition, especially when you first find out about it.”
Last November, the Motyls celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.
For the last 37 years, they lived in Culver City where they raised their three children.
Mr. Motyl said that wherever he goes in Culver City, memories are sparked of when he and Linda were there.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Motyl’s survivors include their children, Deborah, Theresa and Vincent III.
The world lost a lovely person with Linda’s passing. She was my wonderful sister-in-law for 45 years. She will be greatly missed.
Ari and I would like to express our condolences to you. We’re very sorry for the passing of your sister-in-law.
