The air around City Clerk Christopher Armenta’s campaign for the City Council feels more fragrant this morning.

Mr. Armenta is basking in the endorsements of strong environmentalists in Culver City and throughout the region for the April 8 election.

The League of Conservation Voters and the Sierra Club, two leading organizations that work to elect pro-environment candidates, both are backing Mr. Armenta.

In addition, the candidate has received the support of Jim Lamm and Mary Ann Webster, two Culver City residents and activists working with environmental organizations in Culver City.

“I am proud of my pro-environment platform, and I will work diligently when elected on issues such as recycling, green buildings and public transportation,” Mr. Armenta said.

This new support comes on the eve of Mr. Armenta’s “Dinner and Dancing Under the Stars” fundraiser planned for Friday night.

The event will be at 5315 Slauson Ave., from 6:30 to 9:30. Tickets are priced at $40 per person and $70 per couple.
