Due to an editing error, School Board candidate Nancy Goldberg did not say in a story appearing yesterday that she was a founding member of the Culver City Education Foundation. She said: “In a recent article, I am quoted as saying I was a founding member of the Culver City Education Foundation. In reality, I became a member of the Foundation at the time it was founded in 1981. At that time I was a classroom teacher at Culver City High School. I realized the importance of the Foundation after seeing the impact of Prop. 13 on programs in our schools. My commitment always has been to education, and I will continue that commitment by serving on the Board of Education.”
In a separate development, Ms. Goldberg has been endorsed by the Los Angeles County of Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO. She is the only one of the five candidates to have won the nod from every endorsing organization in the community.
“I am very appreciative of the support I have received from these organizations, as well as from my former students, co-workers, neighbors and friends,” Ms. Goldberg said.
School Board member Karlo Silbiger recently said that “she is the right person for the job.”
