Dr. Lisa Cooper, who has held the interim position for three months, since Dylan Farris’s mid-October resignation, is expected to be a leading contender.

Regardless of the search’s outcome, she will remain as interim principal through the end of the school year.

“Our search probably won’t start until next month, engaging the team and then the public release of the posting a couple weeks prior to spring break,” Mr. LaRose said. “We are talking late February, early March.”

A target date for a final decision has not been established.

With the present principal having just earned her doctorate a month ago, “we are very proud of Dr. Cooper’s commitment to lifelong learning,” Mr. LaRose said.

As for the principal man-and-woman hunt, “we will kick off an inclusive proves over the next several weeks that will engage the staff and community as we identify those key qualities, characteristics and experiences that we feel are vital in moving forward,” said the superintendent.
