[img]2777|right|Levette Crespo and Daniel Crespo, Sr. (Internet photo)||no_popup[/img]Hews Media Group-Community Newspaper has confirmed that gunshot residue was found on the hand of the Levette Crespo, the wife of slain Bell Gardens Mayor Daniel Crespo.
We have learned that investigators did not find any gunshot residue on the hands of Mr. Crespo’s 19-year-old son Daniel Crespo Jr.
No arrests have been made in the case.
Sources tell us that Levette Crespo will be holding a press conference with Norwalk-based attorney Eber Bayona today in front of Bell Gardens City Hall.
Mr. Bayona has been a personal family friend of both Mayor Crespo and Ms. Crespo for at least the past decade.
We spoke to an assistant of Mr. Bayona last night. She confirmed that the press conference would be held but would not elaborate on what would be discussed.
Mr. Crespo was shot at 2:30 Tuesday afternoon inside of his family’s residence, in the 6300 block of Gage Avenue.
Mr. Crespo died after his wife shot him several times inside the Vinas La Campana complex, authorities said.
We have been told that Mr. Crespo and his wife were inside their master bedroom, an argument ensued, and Daniel Jr. jumped in between his parents.

We are asking L.A. County CEO Bill Fujioka how much of an L.A. County life insurance settlement “killing” the Widow Crespo stands to haul away after allegedly shooting to death in “self-defense” her husband, the Bell Gardens mayor, who was employed as an L.A. County probation officer?
For comparison, while employed for 25 years as an LAUSD Teacher, I was automatically covered by a $50,000 life insurance policy with no premiums that had been previously negotiated by UTLA for all teacher employees.
