City Councilman Jim Clarke, in addition to being perhaps the most ubiquitous elected official in City Hall history, also happens to be a fun-loving bachelor.
How will he spend tomorrow?
“I am going to do what any bachelor would do on Christmas,” he said. “I am going to walk around with a sprig of mistletoe on my forehead with the hopes that a gorgeous woman will come up and kiss me.”
After the sprig goes away, Mr. Clarke “will be spending Christmas with the family of my goddaughter Nora and her mother Martha.
“Actually, we will be going to other people’s homes so they can feed us.
“And otherwise, hanging around.”
Mr. Clarke grew up in the Northern California community of Pleasant Hill, mostly as an only child since his sister, 13 years older, was away most of those years.
