Re “State Threatens to Suspend Culver High Booster Club”

(See PDFs below)

A day after the community learned the venerable Culver City High School Booster Club was under threat of suspension for failure to file tax-related documents for past years, and separate registration fees, club officials are saying the tardy filings now have been sent to Sacramento.

They believe they are in full compliance with state Atty. Gen. Kamala Harris’s 30-day demand that they post past-due tax returns for three years, starting in 2009, and file two registration fees that had been allegedly ignored by the Booster Club’s previous regime.

The state’s deadline for facing possible decertification is Friday.

Formal confirmation of clearance of the accusations from the state is being awaited.

Booster Club President Lloyd Dixon, who took office 18 months ago, said he wanted to be certain the community has black-and-white proof of the club’s compliance.

After Cy K. Pierce, longtime prominent Culver City accountant who is not an officer of the Booster Club, said yesterday that he has filed the state-cited missing tax returns, Mr. Dixon asked Mr. Pierce to forward links to the completed forms (see here and here) to the newspaper.
