The prosecution of Myron Deshun Grant, accused of murdering city employee Paul Bilodeau last year at the Fire Station No. 3 construction site on Bristol Parkway, was slowed again this morning when his preliminary hearing setting was postponed for a month at the Airport Courthouse. Public defender Michael Russo requested the delay, until Nov. 2, otherwise known as Election Day.

The date also marks the approach of the 26th birthday of Mr. Grant, described by police as a known gang member. He is facing his fourth felony conviction. Police said that after he pawned the cell phone of the victim, Paul Bilodeau, a construction consultant who was killed on the night of Jan. 2, 2009, they were able to identify the suspect. Incarcerated since last February on an unrelated charge, police reached their conclusion about Mr. Grant several months later.
