They drew a crowd of more than 1,000, including Mayor Mehaul O’Leary, City Councilman Andy Weissman and former Councilman Scott Malsin.

Mayor O’Leary and Mr. Weissman threw out the ceremonial first pitches.

Since 1957, Culver City Little League has been an anchor of the community as the only Little League-sanctioned program for boys and girls in Culver City and neighboring communities.

Culver City Little League operates as an all-volunteer program, relying on the support of families, local businesses, corporate and community sponsors.

Through this outpouring of support, Culver City Little League continues a tradition and mission so that more than 700 boys and girls, ages 4 to16, in 10 different divisions of baseball and softball programs, can play every season. Key sponsors include Bunnin Chevrolet, Sony Pictures, Pacific Alarms, Tito’s Tacos, 7-11 (Berryman store) and the Culver City News.
