The Culver City Historical Society invites community members to join the fun when presenting its second vintage Scavenger Hunt/Car Rally fundraiser on Sunday, Sept. 21, from 3 o’clock to 6.
Michelle Bernardin, Society president, said that participants will start at the Society’s Archives and Resource Center in back of the Vets Auditorium, 4117 Overland Ave., where packets containing directions and tickets will be distributed at 3.

A self-guided tour, driving from one place to another, learning facts about local history along the way will be a main feature of the Scavenger Hunt.
Some points of interest to be discovered along the route:
• Where Harry H. Culver first saw his wife-to-be, actress Lillian Roberts;
• Where drag racing began;
• The landmark building that housed the MGM Fan Club, and other locations.
• Final checkpoint will be a familiar location where everyone can celebrate with a taco dinner, a no-host bar, and a 50/50 raffle.
The cost for this fun-filled adventure is $30 for Culver City Historical Society members; $35 for non-members and $10 for children, ages 6-12.
Reservations must be pre-paid and all RSVPs and checks (payable to the Culver City Historical Society) must be sent by Sept. 15 to Culver City Historical Society, P.O. Box 3428, Culver City, CA, 90231-3428.
Ms. Bernardin said that for safety, “For safety, groups and cars with more than one person are encouraged.”
The archive center will be open for viewing from 1 to 3 the day of the event.
