City Clerk Christopher Armenta, a candidate for the City Council, is delighted that Karen Bass has been elected California’s new Speaker of the Assembly.
Ms. Bass has endorsed him in the April 8 election.
Ms. Bass, who has been a strong supporter of Armenta’s campaign since the beginning last year, now will have one of the most important positions in the state’s government.
“Assemblywoman Bass has done a wonderful job representing Culver City in Sacramento,” Mr. Armenta said. “She and I share a common goal of involving the community in the decision-making process. “With budget cuts looming and many issues in need of regional and intergovernmental solutions, I know that our close relationship will benefit our city.”
