All-Star Roster Lines up for Inglewood’s City Clerk

Tom Torlakson, Speaker Emeritus John Perez, state Assemblyman Chris Holden, Assemblywoman Cheryl Brown, Torrance Mayor Patrick Furey, Gardena City Clerk Bernadette Suarez, Los Angeles City Councilman (Ret.) Nate Holden , and California Women 4 Women leader Gwendolyn Cross have announced their endorsement of Yvonne Horton for Inglewood City Clerk.
 
“I am thankful and grateful for the confidence of these public servants,” Ms. Horton said.
 
“Yvonne has been an empowering force for women of all ages and a champion for the rights of all to participate in the democratic process,” Ms. Cross said.  “Her ‘Your Vote Counts’ campaign and ‘Connecting Women to Power’ conference are indicative of this.”

Ms. Horton is a 30-year resident of Inglewood, and she has served as Inglewood City Clerk for 12 years.  She has administered 24 elections and during her tenure, she has handled several complex and complicated elections and initiatives, including the historical Wal-Mart initiative.  Clerk Horton has championed several initiatives that have increased the transparency of the election process, reduced the cost of operations, and improved customer service.
 
As Inglewood's Chief Election officer, Clerk Horton has proven to be independent, smart, and knowledgeable.  She has conducted several voter outreach events, encouraging Inglewood voters to let their voices be heard. She has co-sponsored several initiatives, with organizations and elected officials, including the upcoming Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program that has helped Inglewood residents gain access to local, state and federal resources.
