The Rose Bowl on New Year’s is famous for many different events and activities.

Parade, a trip to Disneyland and the annual feast at Lawry’s Prime Rib on La Cienega Boulevard in Beverly Hills are some events the players relish.

They probably would tell you their favorite activity during Rose Bowl Week is an evening at classy Lawry’s.

This weekend, players and coaches from Stanford and Michigan State along with the Rose Queen and the Royal Court will enjoy one of the preferred traditions the Rose Bowl has to offer.

The 58th renewal may be one of the most interesting Beef Bowls in recent years. Both Michigan State and Stanford are known for their big bruising players who play smash-mouth football. If that is the case, these teams that pride themselves on having the beef up front may end up eating more beef. Most of the time the team that wins the battle at the table wins the game. Stanford and Michigan State will consume some of the best prime rib in the United States or anywhere else on the planet. They will dine on Lawrys famous spinning salad bowl, mashed potatoes, whipped cream horseradish, cream corn and apple pie.

Lawry’s will host Michigan State this evening and Stanford will be in Beverly Hills tomorrow evening.
