Nearly a month of construction work will begin on Tuesday morning at 8 on Oregon Avenue, between Elenda and Midway Avenue.
Their chore: to install a new 8-inch diameter pipe, new fire hydrants, domestic services, and customer lines that should keep them busy on weekdays between 8 and 4 until the end of January.
That is, as long as clear weather holds up.
Construction crews with backhoes and other hand tools will be digging in Oregon Avenue. The services will generally be installed using an air compressor and pneumatic boring tool.
The streets will remain open to traffic during the construction period but traffic and parking may be restricted and access to driveways may be limited for short durations of time. The construction crews will make every effort to keep dust to a minimum. Residents should expect an increased level of noise during the construction period. Weekly activities such as trash pick up will not be interrupted.
