Assemblymember Curren Price today praised President Barack Obama’s first 100 days in the White House.

“He has demonstrated tremendous leadership in the face of the worst economic conditions our country has faced since the Great Depression,” said Mr. Price, favored to capture the vacant state Senate seat for West Los Angeles in  the May 19 runoff election.

“President Obama has given our nation and its people hope that our government will lead us out of the severe downturn that has inflicted pain on working families across America.”

‘After voters of the 26th Senate District have made their choice for a new representative on May 19,” said Mr. Price, “I look forward to working very closely with Congresswoman Diane Watson, the Obama administration, County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas, the L.A. Area Chamber of Commerce, the Culver City Chamber of Commerce, and the County Federation of Labor to develop local economic stimulus initiatives that will create new jobs for working families and protect as many existing living wage jobs as possible.”

Assemblymember Price is the Democratic Party’s nominee to succeed to the seat formerly held by Supervisor Ridley-Thomas who has endorsed him.
