An Argument Against Quick Embrace of Mixed-Use

[Editor’s Note: Here is the presentation one Culver City resident made on Monday night when the City Council was taking public comments on the dimensions of new zoning regulations for redevelopment projects.]

My name is Paul Madison and I support the Culver Alliance for Quality of Life.

I'm glad to see the 9900 Culver Blvd. development has been temporarily tabled, hopefully until the city plan is addressed.

But I'm discouraged by the focus of tonight's agenda on mixed-use development.

I think the city would be well served by rewriting our General Plan and leaving mixed-use alone for the near term.
