[Editor’s Note: “A lot of work is left to do, and the ‘enemy’ is moving fast to squash us,” says Francisco Juarez, a former U.S. Marine and a longtime activist in Veterans’ affairs. Along with Westside businessman Bob Rosebrock, Mr. Juarez recently co-authored a document known as the Veterans Bill, an attempt to counter a measure in Congress by U.S. Rep. Henry Waxman (D-West Los Angeles) regarding usage of land at the National Veterans Home (“With Snarl of a Bulldog, Veterans Are Chasing Waxman,” Aug. 10).

Founding publisher Ari L. Noonan pursued a long and productive career in Southern California journalism before landing on Culver City’s front steps in 2001. He launched our predecessor, The Front Page, in print in March 2004 as a Culver City weekly based in The Culver Hotel. His goal: To energize, electrify and transform the traditionally relaxed style of Culver City journalism.
