We have learned that investigators did not find any gunshot residue on the hands of Mr. Crespo’s 19-year-old son Daniel Crespo Jr. No arrests have been made in the case.

Sources tell Hews Media Group-Community Newspaper that Lavette Crespo has been released by law enforcement officials after being held in custody following the shooting death of her husband, Bell Gardens Mayor Daniel Crespo. The 45-year-old Mr. Crespo was shot at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday inside of his family’s residence, in the 6300 block of Gage Avenue.
