The Shameful Day Culver City Gave Away the Legacy of Dr....
I was so enraged yesterday by the diluted tone and content of Culver Citys Martin Luther King Day celebration at the Senior Center that I walked out partway through the program.
I cannot yet believe how they distorted the dream of Dr. King.
Whether out of ignorance or good intentions, the organizers gave away the sacred legacy of Dr. King to the politically correct forces of diversity. He was not about diversity. The term diversity was neither known nor used during the 1960s. Dr. Kings campaign in the 1950s and 1960s was about gaining equality for his people, for African Americans, although Negroes was the term of the period.
