A Resident Fights Back Against 3 City Council Members
[Editors Note: Furious over critical remarks by three members of the City Council and directed toward residents protesting the 9900 Culver Blvd. project at last nights Council meeting, Catherine Yanda, an officer in the Gateway Neighborhood Assn., issued the statement that follows. During the meeting, Councilman Steve Rose, one of the critics, indicated he was offended Vice Mayor Carol Gross had been invited to meet with the association but he had not. Ms. Gross, too, was critical, saying she tried to work out a meeting date, that she was available, but had no success. Ms. Yanda also commented on the conduct of Councilman Scott Malsin. The Council members raised eyebrows when they pointedly urged residents to stretch out their imaginations and to think outside of their generations in considering their opposition to 9900. The projects target demographic, the Council members indicated, are professionals in their 20s and 30s.]
