[Editor’s Note: School Board candidate Patricia Siever submitted this essay that she described as “the philosophy and educational priorities of a proponent of student success.”] Education is a lifelong continuum. At all levels of the educational spectrum, our students must be prepared for the “global context” in which they will be living and working after they leave our schools, colleges and universities. With the current economic downturn, all of us — parents, teachers, staff, counselors, administrators, business and community members — must affirm our “collective investment” to the education of our youth.
