Getting Physical
Playing cello is a sport. It may not burn as many calories as a pilates workout, but it requires strength, agility and endurance… especially endurance.
Beyond Good Enough
To be or not to be a perfectionist. I ask myself this question at least a few times each day.
I excel at getting things done. During my corporate career, speed, efficiency and my personal 90/10 rule (meaning I got 90 percent of the job done in 10 percent of the time it would take to complete 100 percent of the project) were the attributes that I thought were the reason behind my high salary. I was incorrect.
Love and Getting Organized
Maybe it’s because of tax time. Or the upcoming Easter holiday. Whatever the reason, various circumstances have recently served up constant reminders that I’m not as organized as I might think.
Good Neighbors
One thing I love about where I live is that I can be myself — a musician — and my neighbors LIKE me. This is a big deal.
Moving Beyond Survival
I had a day job for 10 years after graduating with my Bachelor of Music degree.
Being Prepared
At 4:30 this morning, I awoke to the sound of someone trying to break in through my back windows. Or at least I thought it was a person. Once fully coherent, however, I knew the pounding was from the sheets of rain being propelled sideways by the wind.
