An Appreciation of Susan Evans

Community Development Director Susan Evans retires today from public service to begin a new career with her husband along the Central Coast. We all wish her the best of luck and a long enjoyable retirement.

The legacy that Susan Evans leaves is not a long list of buildings and rule changes. Her legacy is far more a culture change in city government, especially in Community Development.

The legacy that I hope and know will last is a culture of being an entrepreneur. Ms. Evans brought a fresh process to Culver City by encouraging her staff to step out and voice their opinions in meetings and thinking out of the box.
