Only One Candidate for Zionists

Dateline Jerusalem -- Israelis will be voting in one of the most highly contested, important elections in years on Tuesday. Israel's safety, security, and...

If Told to, Would Democrat Jews Have Voted for Hitler?

Israeli Is a Democracy, Too, but the Voting System Is Different

Dateline Jerusalem – Next month Israeli voters will go to the polls to elect a new government. Although Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East, our political system is nothing like that of the United States. It can be more closely associated with Britain, probably because the British were in control of the area before Israel gained independence. As a student of political science in undergraduate studies and having taken international law courses in law school, I find Israeli elections fascinating, but ...

Writer’s Block? Never a Problem in Israel

Dateline Jerusalem --,/b> When I have writer's block and cannot think of a topic for my essay, something always happens in Israel so I can make my deadline . The Absurdity of It All – ‘Palestine’ in a Global Court

Dateline Jerusalem -- In times like these when everything seems to be crazy -- right is wrong, up is down, victims are victimized -- evil prevails. Terrorism is praised. Instead, they investigate Israel for "war crimes," "crimes against humanity," and "genocide" in relation to last summer's war with Hamas.

Palestinians? Seriously? Where Were They? Tell Me. Where Were They?

Dateline Jerusalem -- "Hasbara" means explanation, and in a time of negative media efforts to de-legitimize Israel and blame the world's ills on Jews, my weekly essays are my attempts at hasbara. I try to explain and promote Israeli accomplishments in technology, science and medicine, Israel's unique character, its history and politics, its people, and all aspects of daily life here. Unfortunately, this week my focus is on terror in Europe, France in particular, and how it is imperiling the world. It is beyond rational thought that Israel is blamed for the Islamic terror throughout the world, or that the targeting of Jews is a direct result of the "Palestinian" conflict. It is imperative to look at world history. Anti-Semitic violence and Islamic terror did not blossom overnight.

Peer Closely – A Silver Lining Inside Huge Storm Clouds

Dateline Jerusalem -- The song "Stormy Weather" was written more than 80 years ago. Although the lyrics were to a love song, the title appropriately describes what Israel is experiencing. "Stormy weather" is unusual. Last year the country was caught unprepared for the onslaught of snow, torrential rains and gale force winds. This year, conditions are expected to be worse. I write while hoping that ...
