Children Wearing Suicide Belts – Terrorists Riding in Screaming Ambulances
Dateline Jerusalem – Tuesday was another day, another evening in my stairwell. Two sirens, one after the other, as rockets came flying into my area. Twenty-two people and one dog crowded onto the stairs and the landing on my floor. When it was safe to leave we greeted each other with "Hope I do not see you later tonight."
U.N., a Good Neighbor, Returns Stray Rocket to Hamas
Dateline Jerusalem -- Rockets are getting too close. G-d is working overtime with His miracles. Yesterday morning, thunderous booms. But no Code Red Alert siren. Nearby cities getting the brunt of the barrage of rockets. I spoke too soon. Sirens. Just returned from the shelter of my stairwell. Multiple booms while we waited inside it. As of noon yesterday, Israel had 65 Code Red Alerts. There were only 75 the entire day before. By 11 last evening, there had been 101 sirens.
Living Nervously in a Stairwell, Safe from Hamas’s Bombing
Dateline Jerusalem -- Update for Sunday: A sad day. This morning there were sirens again while talking to a friend. Had my windows open. Wow, are they loud. Rushed into stairwell. Back at my computer. I awakened this morning to the buzzzz from my computer, notifying me of another Code Red Alert in Israel. It has been buzzing ever since. I was not surprised when my area was hit. Awakened to news of ...
Shattered Nerves. Code Red Alerts – Hundred a Day in Israel
Dateline Jerusalem -- Another day of Israeli ceasefire without Hamas fire ceasing. In anticipation of Israel ceasing fire, at 4 this morning, 13 terrorists from Gaza tried to infiltrate Israel through one of their hundreds of terror tunnels. Thank G-d for watching over Israel and keeping our army alert.
Hamas Claim Shows Dead Family ‘Miraculously’ Recovers and Dies Again
Dateline Jerusalem -- My neighborhood is quiet so far, thank G-d. Rockets and missiles are non-stop in southern Israel and they also hit the greater Tel Aviv area, shrapnel damaging the roof of a synagogue. As I write this update, I hear the booms and thuds of rockets shot down in nearby populated areas or landing in open fields. I see clouds of black smoke billowing in the sky.
Shipman, Ruben Worry About a Possible Pyrrhic Victory
Will Monday night’s unexpected triumph for Culver City bus riders who are blind melt into a pyrrhic victory – in the courts? No one at City Hall knows – yet. Will the City Council’s unanimous verdict in support of the present policy – the blind ride free while disabled persons and seniors are charged 35 cents – be flipped by the determined hand of one resolute man?
Diving Into My Bomb Shelter at 20-Minute Intervals
Dateline Jerusalem -- Updating the unilateral cease fire, which only Israel has accepted: Three times I had to seek shelter in less than an hour. First time: So much for a cease fire. Sirens wailed. Booms and thuds. I just came back from the safety of my apartment stairwell to file this update. Israel accepted the ceasefire and obviously Hamas did not. Israel complied with the ceasefire for six hours while Hamas fired 50 rockets at Israel.
What Has Happened to Honesty? Israel Is the Underdog
[Editor’s Note: As Hamas terrorists continue firing hundreds of rockets into Israel, sending frightened residents underground, our correspondent resumes her daily update.]
No Respite from Relentless Rocket Attacks
[Editor’s Note: As hundreds of Hamas rockets fired from the Gaza Strip continue to bombard Israel, where more than half of the population is living in bomb shelters, our correspondent filed a report this morning.]
When You Live in Unrelieved Fear – Any Minute May Be...
Dateline Jerusalem -- It never stops raining rockets. It was the 7th of July, not the 4th, it was in Israel, not the United States, yet the black skies were lit up with what seemed like fireworks, or a more adequate description from the Star-Spangled Banner. “And the rockets red glare, the bombs bursting in air.” I had been watching a police show from my bed. As a patrol car came across my television screen, I heard the blaring of a siren. I did not think twice about it. But when it left the screen, the siren’s scream continued. I realized it was the real thing.
