He Claims Difference Between Endorsees of Mayor, Weissman

By Les Greenberg. Ari Noonan, you do not understand that the Farragut Drive residents are not asking the City Council to do anything. The Grace Lutheran Church wants something, and thus must prove its case. It has not yet shown that it has any parking problem. Yet any parking problem supposedly has been caused by Farragut. Can you tell me one problem? Just one.

Six Parking Dispute Questions You Should Answer

By John L. Heyl. I don't think it can be said that reading thefrontpageonline.com will not inspire the passions of its community. As they say on the TV news, sometimes, in the interests of full disclosure, I have lived in Culver City since 1973 on Farragut Drive between the CCUSD Elenda Street Complex and Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church. I wonder how many students were from out-of-district back then? Any headline posted with this piece probably was not written by me.

Response to Noonan’s Non-Sense

By Les Greenberg. Ari Noonan probably has earned an A-plus in an advanced course in illogic and deception. Ken Smith was not a mere campaign endorser of City Councilman Andy Weissman. He and Jozelle Smith long have been politically joined at Mr. Weissman’s hip. Ari, are you able to follow, so far?

The Beauty of the Grace That Flows from a Farragut-Adjacent Church

By Dan O'Brien. In the context of my letter regarding the dispute over parking on Farragut Drive, it has come to my attention that I should acknowledge my relationship with Councilmember Jeff Cooper as well as my affiliation with Grace Lutheran Church. Through my involvement in various volunteer organizations, including Culver City Great Parks Assn., Culver City Education Foundation, Culver City Homelessness Committee, and United Parents of Culver City, I've had the great pleasure of getting to know each of our City Council members.

Is This Fair Play by the City Council?

By Michael Stivers. When my wife and I bought our house on Farragut Drive, we knew there were five schools and a large church nearby. We also knew that the city had given us the protection of permit parking. When we purchased our parking permits this year, we knew that ...

This Was Not the Headline I Would Have Written

By Dan O'Brien. When my family moved to idyllic Culver City in 2000, we chose a beautiful home just a few doors away from Veterans Park. We are also just a few blocks from CCHS, CCMS and Farragut Elementary School. This location is ideal for us as we raise two children. But I know that ...

In Parking Dispute, Conflict of Interest Is Charged

By Les Greenberg. Did Councilperson/Attorney Andrew Weissman suffer an ethical lapse when he attempted to strip residents of the 10700 block of Farragut Drive from the preferential parking that has been in place since 1982? Those parking restrictions curb intrusions caused by persons attending the 49-weekly activities at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Skewering Passive President for Using Words Instead of Acting

By Robert Zirgulis. Right after President Obama gave his "tough speech" in support of Estonia and the other Baltic States of Lithuania and Latvia, guess what Vladimir Putin did? An Estonian border guard was abducted from Estonia by Russian soldiers, taken into Russia and accused of being a spy. This is how Putin replies to Mr. Obama's "tough talk". He knows that Mr. Obama is big talk and no action.

Reasons for Church Parking Ban Long Ago Became Outdated

Dear Honorable Councilpersons ... According to the city's official courtesy notification, at Monday’s upcoming Council meeting, the Council will engage in a "discussion" on the "Existing Permit Parking Restrictions on the 10700 Block of Farragut Drive and Consideration of a Request from Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 4427 Overland A venue to Change the Existing Residential Parking Restrictions." Interested persons, without restrictions, are allowed to participate in that discussion.

Question for Judith: What Is Ann Margaret’s Surname, M’am?

By Steve Rose. Mr. Noonan, I enjoyed your comments on Judith Martin-Straw's letter to you yesterday. I do refer to you as Mr. Noonan, not because of your sex, but because of your advanced age! Going back in history, there were many times when ...
