Labor Endorsement for Armenta
City Clerk Christopher Armenta, a candidate for City Council in the April 8 election, received the endorsement this week of the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor, the second largest labor group in the country, representing over 350 unions and over 800,000 workers.
“I have been a union member for many years,” Mr. Armenta said, “and I am committed to working closely with the police, fire, and other city employees.”
In addition to this endorsement, Mr. Armenta is supported by five former mayors, five current or former School Board members, and every Culver City elected official at the state and federal levels.

New Labor Endorsement for Loni Anderson
Loni Anderson, running for the City Council in the April 8 election, today is the only candidate to have received endorsement from the Los Angeles Orange County Building and Construction Trades Council Endorsement, with specific support from the Iron Workers Union, the International Brotherhood of Electric Workers and the Pipe Fitters Union.
Last week, Ms. Anderson received the endorsement of the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor.

Council Hails Girl Scouts at 96
On the 96th anniversary of the Girls Scouts of the USA and in recognition of Girl Scout Week, the City Council last week honored three representatives of the Angeles Girl Scout Council, Melody Nishida, who is president of the Council’s Board of Directors, and two Scouts, Jennifer and Kristina Schultz.
Some 9700 girls and 6,000 adult volunteers belong to the Angeles Council, which covers more than 100 communities.

City Clerk Christopher Armenta, a candidate for City Council in the April 8 election, will hold a community gathering in Blair Hills on Saturday, beginning at 5 o’clock, at the home of Rosie McCann and Jon Melvin, 5802 Vicstone Ct.

Wolkowitz Endorses Henderson For City Council Election
City Council candidate Dr. Luther Henderson, who will inaugurate a series of Meet and Greet events on Saturday afternoon at Fox Hills Park, today was endorsed by former Culver City Mayor Ed Wolkowitz for election to the City Council on April 8.
“I have been quite impressed with Luther’s decision-making abilities as a member and chairperson of the Cultural Affairs Commission,” Mr. Wolkowitz said.
