Week Two of the Culver City Summer Music Festival tonight at 7 in the Courtyard of City Hall will not resemble Opening Night in any manner.
When the every-summer-Thursday series resumes, at least figuratively under the baton on producer Gary Mandell, the concept will switch from big band sounds of the 1940s to Teresa James and the Rhythm Tramps.
Mr. Mandell describes their blend as “New Orleans meets Texas blues. Teresa’s super vocals front a great blues band,” he says.
“The band really grooves. They play tasteful and funky originals delivered by an eclectic mix of musicians and the Texas native.
“Teresa has performed with a who’s who of artists, including one of her big fans, Bonnie Raitt. She even did a duet with Mickey Mouse on a Disney album, ‘Mickey’s Comedy for Kids.’”
Seating will start at 4:30.
