Only lucky Tom Camarella knows what it is truly like to live with the entertainer Ronnie Jayne.

I mean how many guys can boast of being married to a woman whose personality is so electric that she is known by one name, although some of us were educated in schools that insisted on counting “Ronnie” and “Jayne” as two separately linked names.

And wouldn’t many long-suffering husbands in this corner of the hemisphere yearn to wake up every morning next to a bright-eyed, unrelievedly funny, always-on young woman who cracks:

“This is a fascinating time to be me.”

Twice in the next 72 hours, Ronnie Jayne will dance into a glaring spotlight, or as she refers to it, “home.”

On Sunday afternoon at 4 o’clock, she will bring her popular one-woman show, “No, I Want Red,” to one of Culver City’s favorite venues, the Jazz Bakery, 3233 Helms Ave.

On Monday morning, Ms. Jayne? or Ms. Ronnie? — or both of them — will fly off to Sacramento where Speaker of the Assembly Karen Bass (D-Culver City) will recognize her as the Woman of the Year for the Los Angeles County Democratic Party, 47th District.

Despite her strong Westside profile as a performer, Ms. Ronnie and Ms. Jayne is/are deeply entrenched, in a formal, organized manner, as a ubiquitous community leader.

One must take a serious, heaving breath before listing the breadth of her affiliations:

• Currently President of the Culver City Democratic Club.

• Last year, she was Chair of Culver City’s premiere celebration, Fiesta La Ballona.

• Member of the Cultural Affairs Commission.

• Board member of the Culver City Chamber of Commerce.

• Formerly the Western Regional Vice President of the International Special Events Society.

• Delegate to the state Democratic Party Convention.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, Ronnie Jayne graduated Phi Beta Kappa, Summa Cum Laude from Brooklyn College with a degree in political science.

Once, she wanted to practice law. Fresh out of college, she became a field representative for New York state Sen. Donald Halperin.

In those days, she supplemented her income by working evenings as an entertainer, and the lure became increasingly stronger.

Finally she stopped resisting. She said goodbye to the law, and dedicated her professional talents to singing and comedy.

Along the way, Ronnie Jayne, singer-pianist-comedienne, performed in most of the major Las Vegas hotels.

Wending her way across the country to Southern California by 1986, she launched her own business, “Ronnie Jayne Music and A Song for You Productions.”

Ms. Jayne, current planning a new tour for “No, I Want Red,” most recently has been working with seniors by using singing therapy to improve their memory, their communication skills and their physical well-being.
