Are summers getting shorter?

Are we getting older?

What now is known as Culver City’s Boulevard Music Summer Festival already will be presenting its penultimate show tonight at 7 o’clock in the Courtyard of City Hall.

Producer Gary Mandell will bring back a favorite genre, the sounds of Motown, starring Brenda Lee Eager.

You know the Courtyard will move for two hours.

And don’t forget to bring a wrap because it has been chilly after dark this week.

Here is what Mr. Mandell says of tonight’s star:

“Brenda Lee Eager will present an uplifting, rocking show of classic soul and Motown.

“She will bring the house down. She stirs memories and passion in people of all ages. With classic songs and stories, Brenda narrates her own history with artists with whom she has performed, Etta James, Jerry Butler, Smokey Robinson and Ray Charles.

“She recorded several chart singles with Jerry Butler, and she had two R&B hits on her own. She will be performing with an all-star band with special guests.”
