To our many friends in Culver City:

On Dec. 18, granddaughters Julia (age 2) and Catherine (age 4) were laid to rest at Mt. Sinai Cemetery after having been murdered by Charley’s ex-wife.

We are still working on funeral arrangements for their mother, Charley’s daughter Liza.

We want to thank you all for your support and condolences and remind you to cherish your loved ones and give them hugs right now.

All Gone

By Janet Hoult

In memory of granddaughters Julia and Catherine Fontaine.

The chocolate chip cookie dough
is in the refrigerator waiting

For little girls who like to cut the slices,
put them on the baking sheet,
sneak a bite of the cookie dough, and giggle as they peek at the toaster oven

Waiting for the cookies

There are no cookies this year
to be eaten by little girls,
Who would gently pull apart the dough
and watch the melted chocolate become, oh, so delicious
before they would pop

The cookies in their mouth.

The aroma of cookies baking
is missing from the kitchen.

There are no giggles of little girls
or sounds of delight
when the cookies are done.

There is no joy in the kitchen…
only silence and a memory
Of the little girls who are gone.
