You don’t have shop on Rodeo Drive, read Vogue, or obsessively follow what’s strutting down Parisian catwalks to enjoy thefrontpageonline.com’s new fashion blog. The Fashionoclast, is, after all, not about trends but about fashion in the day-to-day. Costume designer extraordinaire Aqua Catlin and I have been exploring the world of personal style by seeking out the fun, the unique, and the chic – come see what you’ve been missing!

It’s been an exciting few weeks with The Fashionoclast gradually building momentum. We’ve reviewed products, met friendly fashionistas, and discovered exciting brands and designers. Here’s a quick overview.

In the fashionista department, The Fashionoclast has taken a great pleasure in with their own styles. We spoke with Monique Lewis, an aspiring fashion entrepreneur who wants to involve herself in “anything and everything to do with fashion including styling, buying, journalism, design and critique.” And we met Trace, whose focus on fashion for curvy girls fuels her lively, down-to-earth blog Style Klutz.

Product and vendor reviews have so far spanned everything from jewelry to pants and more. Barefoot Bling got a big kudos from me for an imaginative and quality line of toe rings and anklets, while Serfontaine jeans won raves from Aqua: “They're amazingly comfortable, yet flattering — not loose, make my legs look long, (actually they're barely a millimeter from being waaaay too long — the things almost get caught under 4″ platform heels). One of the nicest things about them is the easy pocket detail.” Innovative footwear including topless sandals, a “cure for the common shoe,” and a tres chic alternative to flip-flops called Topsies proved to be very happy discoveries. Even bolo ties, one of my new favourite accessories, received the Fashionoclast treatment.

And yes, Aqua and I have touched on high fashion designers — from Aminaka Wilmont to newcomer Prabal Gurungwho are somehow so inspiring and artistic that it would seem wrong NOT to draw attention to their work.

So there’s something for everyone — men included — since The Fashionoclast is all about being inclusive and I, rather obviously, have a personal interest in fashion I can wear. If you haven’t stopped by for a visit, please join us at www.fashionoclast.com.
