Focusing on two of the greatest entertainers of the 20th century, the show revolves around the songs made famous by Judy Garland and Frank Sinatra. AVPA’s Chamber Singers will also perform. Audiences will hear all the old favorites from "You Made Me Love You" to "The Man That Got Away"…from "Witchcraft" to "New York, New York." There may even be a special appearance from the Rat Pack.
AVPA’s co-executive director and head of the music department Tony Spano is co-directing this show along with math teacher and Chamber Singers director Lisa Michel. Mr. Spano will be pulling together some video clips from Judy and Frank’s stellar stage and film careers to highlight the songs performed by students and faculty at the performance., "Cabaret Night is one of my favorite shows,” he said. “It’s great to see performances of such wonderful songs that just wouldn’t be in any other Academy show."
Ms. Michel said she is “thrilled” at the success Cabaret Night has become. “It started four years ago as a bunch of kids dressing up and singing whatever they wanted. But, it’s developed into a real show."
