I am supporting Laura Chardiet for the School Board.

I have known Laura for over 10 years, through our children who went to Culver City preschool together and who currently attend Culver City High School, as well as through her hundreds of hours volunteering for our schools.

I have served with her on the Board’s Community Budget Advisory Committee, and we worked together in the Culver City Middle School’s Snack Bar.

I know what Laura has accomplished as PTA president of La Ballona Elementary School and through her leadership of the PTA Council.

Laura always has been a tireless advocate for our kids and schools. As past chair of the Culver City Chamber of Commerce, I was delighted when the Chamber, in its first ever endorsement for a candidate for the School Board, chose Laura and Scott Zeidman.

Laura, an educator who is not only familiar with the workings of the classroom (as a former teacher), but also the complexities of managing millions — she administers a $15 million grant for LAUSD.

Smart, insightful, resourceful, a creative problem-solver, she brings qualities especially important for a School Board member. I am asking all my friends, colleagues and fellow residents to vote for Laura.
