Though I no longer have children in Culver City schools, the schools are important to our neighborhoods, so the School Board elections are important to me.
I support Scott Zeidman for re-election because I know from experience that:
(1) He's a strong leader,
(2) He's very responsive when a community member has a question or comment,
(3) If there's a problem where school students or activities are affecting the surrounding neighborhood, he works on a solution.
These traits are in addition to his work on the quality of a Culver City school education.

Accomplishments and Experience Matter
From Rick and Becky Prieto
We are writing in support of School Board President Scott Zeidman.
In a previous letter to the editor, Jill McKeon stated Scott’s numerous accomplishments as a member of the School Board.
We agree you need someone with Scott’s record and experience, re-elected.
Many important items are in the hands of the School Board at present. It is imperative we have a candidate who understands the budget process and has the knowledge and experience to aid in the decision-making process of these items.
Continuity is important ,and we need to elect our one incumbent.
Scott is well respected and supported in the community by families, friends, teachers, counselors, coaches, and community members.
To appreciate Scott at his best, you just have to witness him:
• Interact with his sons,
• Walk the halls and greet people at back-to-school and open house nights,
• Attend CCHS sporting events,
• Attend numerous schools’ arts, music, and theatre programs,
• Promote and sponsor fund-raising events,
• Visit school counselors, administrators, teachers, and students throughout the years, and
• Attend community events.
He has definitely been a recognized and is visible member of the Culver City School District Family and Community.
We believe, based on Scott’s experience, knowledge, and sense of community we ask for your support to re-elect Scott Zeidman for Culver City School Board Member on Tuesday, Nov. 8. Remember on Election Day: Experience, accomplishments, and continuity matter.

A Fresh Listing of Zeidman Accomplishments
From Steve Gourley
My colleague School Board President Scott Zeidman has led the charge to reduce the overcrowded schools he inherited.
He has increased the required grade- point average for students who attend our schools, saved teacher and counselor positions, saved desperately needed teacher aide positions, and encouraged the hiring of Supt. Pattie Jaffe.
Scott also has used his legal experience to re-write contracts to benefit the District by increasing lease revenue and lowering administrative costs.
In addition to all of the above, Scott was the champion of the effort to pass Measure EE that will provide an additional $6 million for our District to make up for some of the massive cuts made to the District's budget by the state. Most importantly, he has ended the practice of giving “golden handshakes” and bonuses to retiring employees which inflate public employee pensions.
Scott has my unqualified support for re-election to the School Board.
