The community is invited to join Nancy Goldberg, candidate for the School Board, to see Culver City’s Angel City Derby Girls’ undefeated Rocket Queens meet Visalia’s V-Town Derby Dames on Saturday evening at 8 at the Vets Auditorium, 4117 Overland Ave. Doors open at 7.
Ms. Goldberg’s campaign will receive 15 percent of the proceeds from tickets purchased online using the link http://vor.us/50e. If persons purchasing their tickets at the box office wish to participate, they should say they are with the Nancy Goldberg campaign.
Tickets are $14, $10 for children under 10, and $25 for VIP seating (first five rows). This is a unique way to support the candidate.
Goldie, as her students call her, retired in June as an award-winning Culver City High School teacher.
“As a School Board member,” Ms. Goldberg said, “I will be able to continue to contribute to the education of the children of the district.
“I hope everyone will come to see the girls in action on Saturday night. There really is nothing that compares to the fun and excitement of a derby match.”
