Culver City’s historic reputation not only has been preserved but enhanced, the proficiency of its elementary schools, middle school and high school placing te community far above the county and state averages.

Five of the seven campuses improved on last year’s scoring in English/Language Arts; all seven improved in Math; as did the seven in Science.

While testing and scores are controversial in some parts of the country, Ms. Jaffe says: “We have been treating it the same way, organizing and paying attention to it, for years.

“What we have done is to look at students who need extra help and putting in interventions to help them. We also put in enrichment activities for students who already are performing at a high level, but they need more also.”
