Anyone can really play with numbers and statistics.
My critics tried to downplay the legal expenses the School District spends and wastes by trying to divide the cost of legal expenses with the total amount of students in the District.
Unfortunately their poor math abilities miscalculated the average cost per student in the District from $6.40 annually when, in reality, it was $22.29 for one month.
It came to my attention from one of my sources that one should look at the legal expenses from another perspective.
I was told about 75 children with special needs have been denied special care, and the District has spent over $300,000 in legal fees against one child over the last three years.
If we divide the $145,000 spent in July by the 75 children with special needs that comes out to $1,933 per child.
The cost of lawyers and litigation is more than the cost of treating children with special needs. Think how the money could have been used to help our kids instead of paying the lawyers.
Think how the unions wouldn't have had to sacrifice furlough days to pay these lawyer fees.
I think the teachers and classified should be outraged and demand answers about how the money is being spent.
