Re “Ex-Teacher to Mielke: Honest You Are Not

There is an old Yiddish proverb: “A half truth is a whole lie.”

I read that Teachers Union President David Mielke is upset that Steven Gourley of the School Board calls him a liar.

There are many ways to call someone a liar without using the L-word.

Dishonest, deceiver, bamboozler, beguiler, hoodwinker, misguider, misrepresenter, deluder and dissimulator come to mind.

Davie Mielke deceived us in the past. On May 24, 2010, David Mielke claimed that the Culver City School District hired two administrators to replace one. That wasn’t true. Ten days later, after I pointed out his misinformation in this paper, David Mielke admitted that the District really hadn’t hired two administrators to replace one.

Some say that David Mielke is deceptive, misleading, fallacious, delusive, beguiling, erroneous, incorrect, misguided, misinformed, mistaken or confused. Steve Gourley uses the L-word.

I would hate to be called a liar. I’d really hate to be called a liar if that weren’t the case.
