Mayor Armenta, Vice-Mayor O'Leary, Councilmembers and City Manager Nachbar,
As I continued my documentation of the vehicle traffic around the CCUSD Quad-Campus area on Friday, a voice behind me asked “Cool, what are you taping?” Turning, I found myself face-to-face with a Culver City Police Dept. officer I believe was the School Resource Officer and a gentleman I think was CCUSD Security.
The SRO wanted to know what I was doing, and I told him I was taking video of the cars running the stop sign to send to the City Council.
Kudos to the CCUSD Security Officer, who apparently was new and didn't know my goal to not see anymore emergency equipment roll down Farragut Drive (http://www.thefrontpageonline.com/new/articles1-5066/), they decided to “check me out.”
There continue to be traffic safety issues in the CCUSD Quad-Campus area. It seems to me that ticketing drivers for not observing the traffic regulations would be a self-funding operation. Other cities have “zero tolerance zones” for traffic enforcement.

CCPD needs to have the resources to establish such a zone in the CCUSD Quad-Campus Area to make a statement to those drivers who make our streets unsafe.
