As a reminder, today is Election Day. If you haven’t already voted, do so now.
Considering developments that recently have come to light and been exposed in the series by the Los Angeles Times’s articles last week on the current Los Angeles Community College Board of Trustees, we urge you to vote for anyone but the incumbents who have worked so hard to betray the public trust and to spend our tax dollars in a very irresponsible manner.
The results of the Candidates Forum last Monday night indicated that several homeowner associations favor the following slate of candidates:
Seat 1 — Ozzie Lopez.
Seat 3 — Joyce Burrell Garcia.
Seat 5 — Lydia Gutierrez.
Seat 7 — Erick Aguirre.
As an additional incentive for you to vote, the current College Board incumbents signed a legal agreement (the Memorandum of Understanding) with all of the homeowners associations surrounding West Los Angeles College. But they decided that we have inconvenienced them enough, have completely disregarded this document they and their attorneys signed, and they no longer care what the public thinks about their failure to comply with their agreement.
Mona Field basically said so at the forum held last Monday night and highlighted in the L.A. Times articles this week. The arrogance was very evident!
If you have a favorite candidate other than those we endorse, please vote for them. All we ask is you not vote for the incumbent slate.
That way, we can possibly force a runoff.
Remember, polls close at 8 o’clock.
Thanks for your interest and support in this matter.
