Los Angeles City Council unanimously approves City Atty. Carmen Trutanich’s recommendation of $4.2 million to seal the lips of two minority victims of LAPD’s gun-crazy shoot-up in a South Bay suburb during the manhunt for ex-officer Chris Dorner last winter.

This proves to be a stupendous victory for plaintiffs’ attorney Glen T. Jonas.

LAPD shoots up innocent pair of L.A. Times employees in February, and yesterday the City Council awarded the Hispanic female targets/victims a jackpot.

Do not expect to read the full story any time soon in the Times because the two severely injured parties worked for the Times.

After adjourning into closed session to vote on Agenda Item 54, the City Council publicly  reported afterward that it voted unanimously on the award to the LAPD bullet-ridden older women, Ms. Margie Carranza and Ms. Emma Hernandez , seriously wounded by LAPD sharp shooters  who erroneously judged the women  on the job delivering the Times  in  their  news truck to be the notorious ex-cop/cop-killer, Mr. Christopher Dorner, who at that time still was on the loose.

The website hollywoodhighlands.org condemns this huge settlement because no LAPD disciplinary action has been taken against the LAPD shooters involved.

Furthermore, this outsized payoff only adds to the City of L.A.'s growing debt.

City Atty. Trutanich’s recommendation  was  approved quietly  by the City Council  – with Mayor-elect Garcetti  absent – to avoid the gigantic embarrassment of a  public trial down the road that would have been disastrous for the LAPD's pristine public image as both fearless and politically-correct crime fighters!
