[Editor’s Note: Ms. Wisnosky Stehlin is president of the United Parents of Culver City union.]

Here are two of the last chances to do something for our schools this year.

Opportunity No. 1:

Tonight, from 7 to 8:30, the public is invited to attend an election work study session at Lin Howe School, 4100 Irving Pl., about the feasibility of a bond that would generate funds for CCUSD facilities ($30 million? $50 million?).

Some voices already have spoken out against a bond election for November.

Do you think our old schools need an upgrade and some modernization?

Tonight’s meeting is your chance to say yes to a bond election for November.

Opportunity No. 2:

Speaking of the bond, United Parents of Culver City’s campaign – for the bond and for School Board candidates Kathy Paspalis and Steve Levin – starts Sunday evening.

There will be a fundraising party, from 7 to 9, at the Elks Lodge, 11160 Washington Pl.

It's going to be a fun evening, and a good way to meet the School Board candidates who will represent parents in Culver City.
