When Tito’s Tactos hosted a meet ‘n greet for state Assembly candidate Sebastian Ridley-Thomas on Saturday morning at the venerable Mexican restaurant in Washington Place, it was a trademark Southern California advance.

Hoping to push the favored Mr. Ridley-Thomas across the finish line a week from tomorrow, before opening for the day, a trio of female mariachis (Tria Ellas) serenaded about 200 supporters as they arri8ved in anticipation of meeting the candidate.

Early on, young (26-year-old) Mr. Ridley-Thomas became so enthused with the festivities that he briefly waltzed with a number of admiring female fans, much to their delight, as the rhythmic Latino music cascaded through the air.

The venue-appropriate menu provided for the throng included Copenhagen pastries and mino-Tito’s Tacos along with an array of beverages.

Restaurant employees rearranged their hectic weekend schedule to accommodate the crowd.

Along with Lynne Davidson, president of Tito’s Tacos, a number of elected officials were present, among them recently victorious School Board president Kathy Paspalis, an old friend, recently victorious Los Angeles City Councilman Curren Price and County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas, the candidate’s father.
